Traveling as a single parent can be daunting and overwhelming. You want to make sure you’re making the right decisions and ensure you are safe while traveling with your little one(s)! As a single parent, I was drawn to Disney vacations because I knew that we would be taken care of from the second we landed in Orlando. The only thing I had to do was get us to our resort transfer! It was the perfect vacation for our family of 2, and I felt safe and comfortable and knew that I could find someone to help us if we needed it!
Once we conquered Disney World, I had the confidence to branch out a bit and make a road trip from Iowa To Augusta, Georgia to see friends. We stopped along the way in Memphis, Atlanta and St. Louis. We made some incredible memories along the way, in fact, we were just talking about this trip the other day – 10 years later!
While we loved our road trip, Disney was calling us again and again and again and we made several more trips to Disney World and Disneyland as my child grew up. It was different each time because WE were different each time. We tried different resorts, restaurants and attractions and of course, would always make sure to hit up our favorites (looking at you, Carousel of Progress).
We loved our Disney World trips and thought it couldn’t get any better than that, until we tried Disney Cruise Line! Once you get a taste of being taken care of on a Disney Cruise vacation, you will never want anything else! Parents: this is a vacation where YOU actually get a vacation too! There are kids clubs and adult-only areas, so you can spend as much time together or apart as you want! We both say that this is the best vacation we’ve ever had! So much so, that we will be sailing on Disney’s new ship, Wish, this summer!
