I love staying at different Walt Disney World properties so that I can broaden my own horizons. It is fun to try out new properties & it really helps me as a travel advisor. This past spring I visited Disney World on an agency trip and decided that I should try Coronado Springs because I had never stayed there before. If you are not familiar with this property, it is a Southwest-inspired moderate resort that in the past used to just consist of villages around a large lagoon. In the summer of 2019, they opened the doors to The Gran Destino Tower, which is a beautiful newish high-rise that now serves as the main lobby of Coronado Springs.
As soon as you step foot into the lobby here, you are wowed. It is gorgeous & definitely does not feel like a moderate resort!
I love the different accents of orange & gold – everything is so pretty!
As I made my way up to my room, I was also impressed by the high-tech button-less elevators. You select your floor on a touchscreen & then are assigned a specific elevator to use when it is your turn. I stayed in a water view room with 2 queens & was immediately blown away when I walked in. Disney did such a great job designing these & it truly feels like a deluxe resort with a moderate price tag.
Some highlights of these very well designed rooms: comfortable beds; lots of storage in the closet, on floor, and in the desk/dresser area; beautiful bright bathroom with storage & space where 2 people could easily get ready at the same time.
One of my favorite things about The Gran Destino Tower are the views!
We could see Expedition Everest from our room & check out the view of Coronado Springs! There are no balconies here but the views are beautiful. You can actually see all 4 theme parks from the rooftop!
This resort was already a great moderate option, but The Gran Destino Tower really took it up a notch. I really enjoyed my stay here & loved the luxury feel of the rooms. I also loved how conveniently located the tower is – the lobby is on the first floor & you are close to the buses and dining. Excellent job, Disney. I would definitely stay here again!
