During a trip with FTM Travel in November, several of us had the opportunity to experience a Non-Private VIP tour! In our group, we were paired with a family with kids around the age of 10 (big enough to ride everything) and a couple, for a total of 12 people. We started out by checking in at Universal Studios and being directed to Cafe LaBamba where breakfast was waiting for us and we met our guide. Our guide asked what rides were important to us to experience during the tour, which allowed him to make his game plan that would be specific to our group.
Once we were full and ready to head out, we took the Hogwarts Express over to Islands of Adventure to tackle Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. This is the most popular ride at Universal Orlando and it doesn’t have an Express Pass Line, so getting to the front of the line access for this ride was INCREDIBLE! Our guide held everyone’s bags while our group experienced this thrilling ride!
From there, we experienced the rest of Hogsmeade in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and then headed over to ride Velocicoaster and Jurassic Park River Adventure. We then covered the rest of the rides we wanted to do in Islands of Adventure, including The Incredible Hulk Coaster, Skull Island Reign of Kong & The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman.
By this time, we were ready for a break and lunch. Our tour included lunch at a Table Service restaurant and ours was Margaritaville at CityWalk. This was a perfect break and we had a great lunch singing along to Jimmy Buffet’s greatest hits!
After lunch it was time to tackle Universal Studios, where we started out in a backstage area (no pictures allowed) where we could see where some movies/shows were filmed and then headed over to Despicable Me Minion Mayhem & Villain-Con Minion Blast. After that, we went over to Revenge of Mummy and then over to Diagon Alley for Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts.
At this time, we parted with our guide and spent a little bit of extra time in Diagon Alley with some great tips from our guide. We then used our included Express Pass to hit up E.T. Adventure Ride (even with the Express Pass, we had a bit of a wait here) and then a few people in our group fit in a ride on Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit while the rest of us did some shopping with our 10% discount, which is a perk of doing a tour!
We were able to hit all of the major attractions in both parks with time to spare in our day! We moved efficiently around the parks and covered a lot of ground! The front of the line access and not having to put our bags in lockers was truly a game changer! I highly, highly recommend considering a VIP Experience for your next trip to Universal Orlando! If you elect to do the Private VIP tour, it’s even more customizable, with the ability to repeat attractions during your tour and you’ll receive a 3-Day Photo Package.
I’d love to help you plan your next Universal Orlando vacation! I travel to the parks frequently to make sure I’m offering the best recommendations to my clients! Please reach out at firstname.lastname@example.org to get started!
